The Beat Goes On Marching Band

They wear purple. They play band instruments. They march around the Fair. They make everyone grin.

The Beat Goes On was a smash success at last year’s fair, so we asked them back for 2023. This all-adult marching band is committed to delighting Pacific Northwest, national and international audiences while reliving the best parts of the marching band experience. The band is known for its feel-good attitude, emphasis on audience interaction, and spontaneity on the street and on stage.

TBGO features a high-energy, brassy, rock-and-roll style. Yes, it’s a marching band. But it’s more likely to play Pitbull or Bruno Mars than John Philip Sousa. Not many bands have performed in Alaska’s largest parade, the nation’s oldest Fourth of July parade in Rhode Island, on the floor of the Oregon House of Representatives, in a 25-mile floral parade in the Netherlands, in a cruise ship’s main showroom, at an 18th century European castle, atop the Great Wall of China … and all around the Oregon State Fair.  If you're strolling the promenade and hear something loud and brassy behind you – The Beat Goes On!
