For anyone who did not work in OSF Admissions or Parking in 2016.

To be considered for admissions and parking positions you must complete a Personnel Source application online by clicking HERE and then completing the Personnel Source application form.

After you complete the application form, Personnel Source will review your application and send an email to those individuals who are being considered for the positions.

The email will direct you to stop by the Personnel Source office (Salem location only), complete additional paperwork and receive a “Golden Pass” for the Oregon State Fair interviews.

The pass will provide you the date and location of the interviews. The interviews will be held on August 5 and you MUST have the Personnel Source Golden Pass in hand to be admitted to the interviews. NO ONE will be allowed to interview for admission or parking positions without the Personnel Golden Pass.

Applicants are required to submit to a criminal background check at the time of a conditional offer.


JANITORIAL & GROUNDS CLEAN-UP POSITIONS VIa venue smart, llc

For those who are interested in working in the janitorial department (Venue Smart), fill out the VENUE SMART APPLICATION, click on the “Contact US” link, and bring your completed application to the Janitorial Job Fair on August 16 at 9:00 am at the Oregon State Fair Pavilion off of Sunnyview Road. Also bring two (2) forms of identification (i.e. government issued photo ID, Social Security card).

Applicants are required to submit to a criminal background check at the time of a conditional offer.


CARNIVAL RIDE AND GAMES POSITIONS via rainier amusements

For those who are interested in working in the carnival (rides and games), you will fill out the Rainier Amusements application at the Carnival Job Fair on August 12 at 9 am at the Oregon State Fair Pavilion off of Sunnyview Road. Bring 2 forms of ID. (i.e. Government photo identification, Social Security card).


FOOD CONCESSIONS

Each food concessionaire holds their own interviews. Contact food concessionaires directly for their individual hiring process.


PARKING & ADMISSIONS

POSITION DESCRIPTIONS FOR OREGON STATE FAIR/PERSONNEL SOURCE HIRES IN ADMISSIONS AND PARKING

Ticket Seller

Duties: Employee operates a computerized ticketing system, informs customers about ticket options, handles cash, answers questions, provides general information, and helps facilitate resolution of special requests and customer situations or refers to gate captain or Oregon State Fair representative.

Expectations: Employee must have adequate vision, hearing, manual dexterity, motor skills, and communication skills to perform the duties of the position, including emergency response situations.

Employee frequently interacts with the public and is required to effectively communicate with the public. Employee must be able to multi-task, answering questions while processing transactions on a computer.

Employee must have experience operating a computer with emphasis on keyboarding skills and familiarity with MS Office applications, such as Word and Excel. Experience with web-based ticketing systems preferred.

Employee may be required:

  • Work irregular shifts (split, evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • To address hostile and offensive language and actions from the public
  • Walk up and down inclines and stairs, over rough, uneven, and slippery terrain or paved surfaces
  • Sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Work in congested work areas or confined spaces

Minimum Qualifications: Employee must have a minimum of six months cashiering experience or six months customer service experience.

Ticket Taker/Hand Stamper

Duties: Employee stands at or near the gate and collects customer tickets and/or stamps hands for fair guests who wish to return to the fairgrounds. Specific duties may include scanning or punching the ticket and returning it to the customer, or tearing ticket in half and returning one half to the customer and monitoring readmission of customers who leave during the event/performance by verifying they have the required ticket stub to be readmitted.

Expectations: Employee must have adequate vision, hearing, manual dexterity, motor skills, and communication skills to perform the duties of the position, including emergency response situations.

Employee frequently interacts with the public and is required to effectively communicate with the public.

Employee may be required:

Parking Attendant

Duties: Employee provides parking direction, guidance and assistance to customers as they arrive or depart; allows or disallows access into lots as appropriate; and provides customers with local directions and other venue information.

Expectations: Employee must have adequate vision, hearing, manual dexterity, motor skills, and communication skills to perform the duties of the position, including emergency response situations

Employee frequently interacts with the public and is required to effectively communicate with the public.

Employee may be required:

  • Work irregular shifts (split, evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • To address hostile and offensive language and actions from the public
  • Walk up and down inclines and stairs, over rough, uneven, and slippery terrain or paved surfaces
  • Sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Work in uncovered, open area parking lots in the sun, heat, rain and other inclement weather.
