Thursday, September 3, Visitors Travel Back in Time, Enjoy 1860’s-Era Entry
SALEM, Ore. — In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Oregon State Fair, Thursday, September 3, has been dubbed, “Throwback Thursday.” Admission for the day will be 25 cents—a nod to the original entry price.
“In 1861, the first Oregon State Fair opened with an admission of 25 cents,” said Dan Cox, Oregon State Fair spokesperson. “The fair has changed significantly during the past 150 years, but for one day, people can experience the modern fair—at vintage prices.”
The Oregon State Fair runs through Monday, September 7. Hours and event schedules can be found on the Oregon State Fair site.
