4-H & FFA

Head. Heart. Hands. Health. Four small words that mean big things to 4-H members. 4-Her’s have hundreds of exhibits to display. FFA students also compete to become an Oregon State Fair Champion.

ART & PHOTOGRAPHY

The All-Oregon Art Annual's Professional, Amateur, Student and Youth, Juried and non juried Calligraphy categories combined with the Photography categories of International Exhibition, the Oregon Salon and the Student and Youth.

FARM & GARDEN

From fruits and vegetables to bonsai and flowers, farmers and gardeners keep a good thing growing. See what Oregonians have cultivated or show off your green thumb.

FOOD ARTS

What’s cooking? The most delectable dishes in Oregon, that’s what. Check out blue ribbon winners in everything from rhubarb jam to coffee cake. Or turn up the heat with your own cooking.

GEOGRAPHY

From GPS Treasure Hunts to Where in Oregon Contests - set your coordinates for serious fun while competing for exciting prizes every day of the Fair.

GUITAR HERO

Unleash your secret rock star. Pit your Guitar Hero skills against other contestants in our nightly tournament. Winners will compete in our championship on the last day of the Fair.

HOME ARTS & CRAFTS

Categories include textiles, preserved and baked foods, table decorating, poetry, fly-tying, ceramics, building blocks, paper arts, cake decorating, scrapbooking, and collectibles. In addition to contests, we offer home arts and hobbies classes.

HORSE SHOW

The Oregon State Fair Horse Show is one of the biggest horse shows this side of the Mississippi. Housed in the historic Stadium, the Horse Show features competitions of more than 15 different horse breeds, including the very popular draft horses.

JUST-FOR-FUN

Up for some serious fun? Enter our Just for Fun competitions! From our 15th Annual Watermelon Seed Spitting Competition to the Duct Tape Contest, these contests offer old-fashioned fun for the whole family. You don’t need an entry form.

LEGO ROBOTICS

Lego Robotics clubs and competitions are an excellent way for young people to experience the excitement of technical creativity and gain insights in the possibility of a technical career.

LIVESTOCK

Take stock of the livestock in the Bud Forster Livestock Pavilion and Beef Barn. Check out and dairy cattle, sheep, goats, hogs, llamas and baby animals. Visit the milking parlor and meet an Oregon Dairy Princess. Or enter these head-to-head (or horn-to-horn) contests.

SCIENCE

Have a passion for science? Looking for a beaker full of fun? The 2008 Science and Technology Competition offers Oregon Students in grades 4, 5 and 6 the chance to strut their scientific stuff.

SMALL ANIMALS

All creatures small and smaller are rounded up for these competitions, including rabbits, poultry, cavies (guinea pigs), pigeons and doves.

TALENT SHOW

TEXAS HOLD 'EM

Do you know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em? Put on your poker face and join the fun in our daily contests.

These spirited competitions include beer in all of its varieties (ales, stouts, lagers, mead, cider, softdrinks and more!) and wine in all of its varietals.
